Type Seven’s are known as the Optimistic Enthusiast

Type 7s are so much fun!  They see everything as good and can find the silver lining in all circumstances.  If you are down, you will want to find a 7 to help cheer you up.  They take it upon themselves to be the life of the party. Sometimes they can get themselves into trouble by spinning too many plates and living too much in the future rather than being present.

Listen:

In this season finale of The Art of Growth, Jim Zartman interviews enneagram coach Joel Hubbard on what it has been like to personally discover his enneagram type as a 7, and then Joel interviews a panel of several other type 7s.  Listen up to see what resonates with you the most.

Jeff and Beth McCord of Your Enneagram Coach share all the good stuff regarding type 7s.  In this podcast called: The Basics: Type 7, you will hear straight talk about the best parts of a 7 as well as their struggles.

Watch:

This one will take you way back and remind you why it is your favorite Disney movie from childhood.  Grab some popcorn and watch Peter Pan who is the poster child for type 7’s. Remember, he did not want to grow up. Check it out on Amazon Prime.

Read:

Read this quick article written by Heidi Priebe of Thought Catalog called: 25 Signs that you might be an Enneagram 7.  This one is a quick and easy read since we know 7s like to get to the point and can sometimes be scattered which makes reading unenjoyable to them. Number 24 is my favorite.

The work of the 7 is to truly live in the moment, to absorb the magic in everyday simplicity, and to not overspend and over-consume in pursuit of feeling 10 percent better than normal.  In Eckhart Tolles’s book, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment you will learn the life-changing skill of being fully present.   Believe me, your loved ones will thank you.

Grow:

Type 7s live their lives planning and dreaming about what is next.  They are afraid of missing out on something (FOMO), which means that likely they are missing a lot of what is happening in the here and now.  In growth, a type 7 needs to learn the Joy of Missing Out (JOMO) in order to experience contentment and sobriety from their constant yearning to avoid hard things.
